I know you have been waiting a long time for me to finalize the design of the Crafting Space Organization & Storage. This is my happy place, in the sunroom, surrounded by color and the birds chirping outside. This morning’s newsletter invited my customers to request a handmade card to see the distINKtive stamped images in their mailbox, so I cleaned up to get the cardmaking started!
I work from left to right, so I have my cutting station here on the IKEA kitchen island we bought in Pflugerville. I score my sheets of card stock first, and then cut the sheets in half, so I have those two tools up top. The Big Shot and all my dies and embossing folders are on the shelves, and when I bring those out, I use the filming area right above those drawers.
This is the main construction zone. I have all my inks and stamps here on the left, and punches to the right. In order to keep the paper from fading, I bought two of the 12×12 units from Stamp-n-Storage as well as the rolling cart they make. I can slide the tower into the slot against the wall, and protected from sun fading.
Here are those two units together on their rolling cart. Rolls smooth as glass and silently, so I really love it. I work mostly with pastel card stock, and few neutrals, and a few other colors that work with the construction of my Card Corsage florals.
I keep my punches forever, so I have two different units from Stamp-n-Storage to hold my punches right at my fingertips. The best thing about these units are that they keep everything so tidy in 4″ of depth that I don’t have any problems with visual chaos like before. Organization is a really big deal to keep creativity flowing. I have way too many stamp sets right now, but we’re nearing the end of this Annual Catalog, so this is usual for me at this time of year.
At the end of the construction zone, I have taken a whale-tail punch storage unit and turned it on its side for my cards. This includes a little address notebook I’ve had since 1978 from Oklahoma State’s bookstore. The unit has 15 slots, so I can hold 12 different kinds of cards as well as the protection items I use to cushion a pearl. A small piece of bubble wrap, or an old postcard does the trick.

I am an affiliate with Stamp-n-Storage which means that when you buy through my links, or even shop with them through my links, I am given a few cents. Those shopping trips add up, but I wouldn’t share these products with you unless I sincerely thought they were the best thing for your needs. You have seen my studio. These units keep me on task and allows me the creative space needed for inspiration to grow.
