Autumn Cards or Masculine Birthday Card?
I can’t help myself when I use these colors, thinking that all the Autumn cards could be masculine birthday cards, too!

I love how the Designer Series Papers have two sides to them, and I especially love this because I can use the card sketches I’m saving to serve two purposes! Let me show you what I’m talking about:

This side of the paper is absolutely delightful with whimsical autumnal images, but not overly cutesy. I wanted to use last month’s card sketch to make more cards, and didn’t want any left overs, so I cut the sheets into 12 pieces.

On the flip side of these pieces are the tree rings! Love your papers? Cut them up, don’t just hoard them! And, follow me for more card sketch ideas that will make it easy for your card sending in bulk.
We’re coming into a time of year that is really hard for many, many people. Not just Christmas, but this time of year with the days becoming shorter, and the weather bringing more gray days than sunny, Seasonal Affect Disorder is a real thing. Gloomy days bring on sad memories and a feeling of loss that we can squash with a friendly, happy card of just “Thinking of You” like this Hello Card!

Once you cut up your Designer Series Papers, cut your white or vanilla card stock down the middle. If you don’t have the Deckled Rectangle dies, you can snip these strips to 3″x4-1/4″ pieces to copy today’s card.

I used the fifth Deckle die from the center (there are 9 dies in this set!). Starting close to the top of the strip, and not having to work hard, you can easily get four pieces from each strip.
HOW I DO IT: I make cards ahead of the need. I also use a sketch book that Martin Stone has available on amazon now to keep track of sketches. I’m collecting only the sketches that work well in Card Ministry and since I just bought the book, I haven’t decided yet whether I want to put a copy of the actual cards slipped inside. It would be easy enough, I suppose, to copy an actual card and shrink it down to fit.
When I started with this sketch last month, I cut the strips 2-1/4″ wide and had a bit of left over. The advantage of this width is just how much of a lovely paper design shows!

I hope I’ve inspired you to take out ONE PIECE of 12×12 and cut it up Whether you make 8 cards or 12, tell me about it! I want to hear from you!
