Quick and Graceful Note Cards with Splendid Thoughts
I have to tell you that I am having a LOT of fun making quick and graceful Note Cards with Splendid Thoughts stamp set! I didn’t even put things away after making the A2 cards before I just had to see what that idea would look like shrunk down to Note Card size.
You might want to try this kind of color combination on Very Vanilla, but I stuck with the Basic White this time. I kept the Bumblebee! And the Linen Thread bow just had to come out again … Linen Thread reminds me of the garden design twine that I use as a row marker planting carrots and lettuce.
Let’s Get Started!
SUPPLIES:
- Stamps: Splendid Thoughts, Flowing Flowers for the sentiment
- Ink: Delightful Dijon, Pumpkin Pie, Cinnamon Cider, Watermelon Wonder
- Paper: Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes
- Tools: Simply Scored, Bone Folder, Fine-Tip Glue
- Pretties: Linen Thread, Champagne Rhinestones
ASSEMBLY:
- You don’t have to do this, but I always score my Note Cards along the already existing score line at 3-1/2″. DO NOT FOLD YOUR CARD YET! Keep it open and flat until you have finished ALL your stamping, inside and out.
- Stamp your Watermelon Wonder sentiment first. Use your Stamparatus to make sure the sentiment is straight every time. The lined papers that come with your tool will help you to line it up.
- Stamp your Delightful Dijon line images on the front of the cards, inside the cards, and on the front of the envelopes.
- Stamp your Pumpkin Pie circles image and just free hand it. This time, the two-step stamping is very much a free form “suggestion” of coloring. I think this is why I love this stamp set so much.
- Stamp the Cinnamon Cider bumblebees flying through your stems and just above where you’ll be addressing your envelopes. What fun to have her point the way for the mailman!
- Place a dot of the Fine Point glue on the right sided stem and attach your Linen Thread bow. Hold it in place with one of your acrylic blocks for a little bit. It’s worth the time because it dries clear and hard. No sticky residue left behind to stick inside your envelope.
- Scatter a few Champagne Rhinestones, using the smallest stones in the package. Or, if you can find your gold Wink of Stella, splatter away for sparkle!
- NOW YOU CAN FOLD YOUR CARD and burnish the fold with your Bone Folder.
Done and Done! If you find yourself stamping a few cards too many, you can think of at least five people you know. Send them a card instead of a text!
