Splendid Man Thoughts Happy Birthday Card
This months stamp set and the challenge of making it masculine was actually more fun than I thought it would be! I’m challenging myself to go through the entire month using this stamp set to offer options and inspiration for Card Ministry cards, and making 4 cards in just 30 minutes. When you’re ready to make more than four cards each month, it’s important to keep it simple, but not completely boring!
This time I mixed several of the stamp sets I’ve been recommending. Splatter from Forever Fern and a sentiment from Flowing Flowers play well with Splendid Thoughts, and I didn’t shy away from my Linen Thread. We tied a square know instead of a bow to keep it masculine.
SUPPLIES:
- Stamps: Splendid Thoughts, Flowing Flowers, Forever Fern
- Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Seaside Spray
- Paper: Crumb Cake, Basic Gray, Very Vanilla, and Very Vanilla medium envelopes
- Pretties: Linen Thread
ASSEMBLY:
- Score and cut Crumb Cake card stock for your card bases
- Cut Basic Gray into 4-1/4″ x 3″ and zip through your Big Shot using Herringbone embossing folder
- Cut Very Vanilla 4″ x 5-1/4″ for inside your card, and 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″
- Stamp your choice of sentiment in Night of Navy
- Stamp your outline stamp in Early Espresso on both of the Vanilla pieces, and outside of the envelope
- Stamp your two-step stamp in Crumb Cake
- Splatter stamp in Seaside Spray
- Adhere your Basic Gray piece with adhesive of choice
- Tie your Linen Thread around the stamped panel – I used two pieces at once to make the square knot a little more obvious
- Adhere the Vanilla panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Adhere the inside panel of Vanilla with adhesive of your choice.
- Close the card and burnish the fold with your Bone Folder
When you make cards, make more than you need right now. You just never know!
