Have You Added Layers to a Note Card?

Although not the usual, have you added layers to a Note Card? Take a look.

Even though the Note Card is smaller than an A2, I wanted to give it a layer that showed a quarter inch border all the way around. The bonus is two-fold:

  1. Working with a panel on any size card means you can stamp off the side without it running onto the card base below
  2. Wrapping ribbon or twine all the way round a panel means it doesn’t show on the inside of the card (not that there’s anything wrong with that!)

Supplies:

  • Stamp sets used: Very Versailles and Happy Thoughts (retired)
  • Ink colors are all from the Neutrals color family: Mossy Meadow, Merry Merlot, Early Espresso
  • Paper: Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes and Basic White card stock
  • Yumminess: Old Olive linen thread and the Tailored Tag punch

Instructions:

  1. Cut your little panels 3″ x 4-1/2″ and save your left over strips for the sentiments
  2. Score your Note Cards along the existing score line at 3-1/2″. You don’t have to do this, but it makes it so much easier for me to see the line. DO NOT FOLD YOUR NOTE CARD YET.
  3. Stamp your panel with the words first in Early Espresso, then the vine in Mossy Meadow after. If you’re making a bunch of these cards, use your Stamparatus/MISTI to keep your placement.
  4. Wrap your panel with the twine and tie it off on the FRONT SIDE in the area where that sentiment-punched piece will cover it.
  5. Stamp your sentiment in Merry Merlot and punch out with the Tailored Tag
  6. Using liquid glue or adhesive runner, adhere the front panel centered on your Note Card
  7. Using two Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere the sentiment over the knot
  8. Stamp the back of your Note Cards with your personalized stamp from Joscie.com
  9. While your stamps are still inky, stamp the inside panel of your cards and the front of your envelopes
  10. NOW YOU CAN FOLD the Note Card and burnish the fold with your Bone Folder

I hope you consider making Note Cards by the hand full soon. Even without the panel, twine, or popped up sentiment, these are great cards to make several of so you have them on hand for lots of reasons.
