Thinking Of You Card Idea

This week I found out that there was a big need for one particular card, so I have a Thinking Of You Card Idea to show. Using punches for the main sketch elements, a stamped background, and just one die from the Mini Treat bag framelits, I created all the parts for a dozen cards.

One of the stamps from “For The Birds” stamp set (vintage) fit inside the Note Tag punch, so I stamped several 2-1/4″ strips of white cardstock using Early Espresso ink. NOTE: I waited a few days to water color with these markers and had no running, no staining!

When die cutting this darling strip of hearts, keep the punched out pieces! And frankly, if you don’t have this framelit set for the Mini Treat Bag you can hardly understand my excitement with it because unless you have it in your hand, you may miss the fact that it has strips of stars and circles, too, as well as a die cut image “FOR YOU” and “ENJOY” to also dress up that bag. So, buy it.  You have a Big Shot already, so get a very versatile die set to go along with it!

Every time you water color, you’re going to get individualized cards. No two will ever be the same. Make robins and canaries and sweet little wrens! I kept these birds all bluebirds simply because of the strip of hearts being Soft Sky card stock.

I’m not sure why, but it was really exciting for these new stampers to create this card using just punches and this one strip through the Big Shot. Plus, we all got to color our birds and the sweet little heart in her thought bubble! I showed them how to make consistently sized bows with the 10SecondBowMaker, too. That was another plus! EZPZ!

The two punches I used today are retired. Don’t let the Mini Treat Bag thinlits get away from you before they are retired too!
