How to Create From A Favorite Style of Cards

I want you know how to create from a favorite style of cards because there are so many different variations from season to season, stamps that come and go, and occasions, too!

This card starts with Very Vanilla thick card stock from Stampin’ Up! I love a card that feels kinda hefty in the hand. I’d call this 110#, though the actual weight varies from brand to brand. For instance, 110# Neenah that sells at Costco is so thin I’m able to score two layers at once. Not so with Stampin; Up! thick card, Vanilla or White.

The Vanilla layer that I embossed with Timeworn Type is regular Vanilla. Both thicknesses are hot pressed, so your stamped images and sentiments turn out sharp every time. In this case, the sentiment NEEDED hot pressed card because the font is a great hand written style. It comes from the Soft Seedlings stamp set I’ve been using recently.

The tree ring medallion is cut from Crumb Cake, and I sent it through the Tree Rings Hybrid embossing folder with the die this time. You can see a panel embossed with just the fold in THIS POST. A quarter sheet of card stock will not give you every die cut ring possible, but you can decide where to place it to get as many tree rings as possible.

The tree ring piece became my base for what I call a Card Corsage. I almost always put it in the bottom left corner of a card. Popped up on Dimensionals gives it a little more interest, and it means you’re going to need one Dimensional on the sentiment strip on the right side. Just a little liquid glue on the left attaches the strip.

The three little Autumn accents are attached with glue, too. If you have the Mini Dimensionals, you can use those, too. Linen Thread ties a bow and it is accented with one of the Amber Gems. Two more gems “scattered” and we call this card finished.

Remember, you can click the Add All To Cart button up there and it takes you to my store with everything in your shopping cart. Once there, you can simply remove what you already own. From there, add the month’s Host Code and finish checking out.
