A World Where There Are Octobers

Autumn looks differently here in Texas, as you can imagine. Autumn takes a hopeful heart to hang onto the memories of colors, and crunch, and fragrances where I lived with REAL Autumn. The funny thing about my memories, I just realized, is that they all began in Albuquerque! It’s only one USDA Zone lower that the 8b I live in today, but it’s where we had sleds in the winter, crunchy leaves in autumn, and where my gardening with Daddy taught me roses, and the incredible fragrance of irises.

Today’s card uses a stamp set from 2010! Gosh, there have been such great stamp sets over the years. I wonder what year it was that Stampin’ Up! created “distINKtive” carving? This one has a great collection of leaves that can be used in any season depending on the colors of ink you use, so I started with a crushed curry leaf just starting to turn. I’ve done this before with the Soft Seedlings SNEAK PEEK blog post you can find in July 2022. That was another great stamp set.

The stamped panel is one that I recommend you cut a couple dozen of when you have the time. (You get four per sheet of card stock, and your left over scraps make sentiment panels.) be sure to cut white card stock to fill your inside panels of cards this season while you’re at it.

I kept this card very simple, popped up the stamped panel with Dimensionals, and added my Linen Thread bow. I skipped any rhinestones this time and opted to use the splatter stamp instead. I hope you don’t mind?

  1. Another beautiful CC Creation! I remember in 2010, you were the one who pointed out this stamp set to me and said how versatile it would be. You were so right! I will never get rid of this one! French foliage has been a favorite through the years, and you have made it shine!
