Just A Little Note To Keep In Touch

I absolutely love great sentiments, and found this one in a stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps. Do you know them? They are based in Oregon, and I have been buying some photopolymer stamp sets from them for quite a while. This set is called Mailbox Memos and I have been using the sentiments one at a time each month. Keeps me from saying the same thing to everyone every month!

The main images should look familiar. I used Forever Fern, and the green ferns are stamped using a technique called Generational Stamping. Ink up once and stamp two to three times.

The splatter is stamped in Basic Beige, which is a couple of notches lighter than Crumb Cake. The stamp is an old wood mount stamp from French Foliage.

I just love getting the oldies out and stamping with them! What you will see me stamping with most often are the DistINKtive stamp sets that give such great shading with a simple ink and go. I have a Wednesday each month where I will stamp a lot of cards to have at the ready for most of the Card Ministry needs that I know are already coming up, but I also end up with cards available to send right away ….. before I have a chance to forget ….. YES!!! I’m still doing that! Forgetting things almost immediately is such a pain in the rumpus!

So, talk to me. Have you kept your older stamp sets? I know you’re going to cringe when I say this but I have thinned out hundreds of stamp sets this year. I whittled my every day sets down to less than a shelf width in the Nook. Don’t scream! I kept your favorites and I will keep showing you how to use them in both sizes ….. Note Cards as well as a panel for an A2 card.

I think you’re going to like this new plan!

  1. There are a few old favorite stamp sets I still have and use. A lot of Christmas ones. And I agree, I do like the distINKtive stamps, too. I just checked out Honey Bee Stamps. Some lovely stamp sets! Unfortunately I live in Canada . Well!! 😂 NOT unfortunately, but the exchange rate is pretty high, on products bought/ordered in US so it always costs quite a bit more. I love your card ministry idea and it’s a great way for us stampers to “give back” and offer cheer and encouragement. Thank you for your encouragement!

    1. Thank you, Dianna! I’m happy to find a kindred sister in Card Ministry AND DinstINKtive stamps. They save frustration for me because I am not very good at shading with markers. I stamp more often when I’m not frustrated by the result, ha ha!

Oh darn! Those exchange rates are such a bear! However, if you like Mailbox Memos, I can send you one because I accidentally ordered two. I can ship via Pirate Ship to Canadian addresses if you would like to try that?

  2. I obviously need to check out Honey Bee Stamps since I live in Oregon…camaraderie you know😉 I will admit, I hoard stamp sets and pretty paper! I just know as soon as I get rid of it ai will need it! I do like to revisit my old sets occasionally and frequently turn to old tried and true for special birthdays and other special occasions. Remember Clubhouse???
