Getting Organized, Focused, and Finding Purpose

Getting organized, focused, and finding purpose after resigning from Stampin’ Up! was a big job. After nearly 16 years, I needed to just get out and stop feeling guilty for not blogging every day (which I didn’t do any way). I chose a stop date based on the ending date for the last annual catalog. Nice and tidy, just the way I like it.

Then came the cleaning out of cabinets and shelves. Wow! There was a lot of stuff in there! There I was at the start of a new catalog and not buying a single thing! In fact I didn’t do anything much about the glut of products that I had from many different companies until May of this year.

Are you familiar with the saying, “pitching a hissy fit”? It’s a southern term and means that there might be blind rage cleaning involved. Similar to Norwegian Death Cleaning, but with more haste and a complete lack of sorting through the shelves. Reaching in and gathering armfuls off the shelves and tossing into moving boxes, but this isn’t going with you to the next chapter. No, these moving boxes are going into the trunk of the car completely unsorted and off to the local donation groups. With great haste.

So, during May of this year, Mark was out of town for a couple of weeks and I cleaned it all out. Here’s what I have now:

I kept my ten favorite stamp sets/bundles that were distINKtive, and created a rainbow of ink pads/markers. My big plan is to have a monthly card making session making bulk orders of cards going to Creative Kindness.

I have room for more ink pads should they come up.. My favorite stamp sets are there on the counter, and YES there are more in the cabinets above, but I won’t need them until Christmas Card season.
