Using The Right Adhesive

Today, I have to tell you that Using The Right Adhesive is a really big deal.

Aren’t I big tease, not showing you the card of this series yet?  Well, I need to get some Teaching Time in before you get all excited about the card and start asking the same questions that everyone will be sending me!

None of you bought this adhesive strip and I know you thought it was only for making Shaker Cards. Well, look at this card.  It’s got a nice panel on front, and I will cheat and let you know that it has two layers to it. Rather than use about five Dimensionals on this panel, I decided to use up all the Foam Adhesive Strips I had.

These strips are 9-1/4″ long, and there are 40 of them in a package.  Long story short, I didn’t use up a whole package even though I made 48 cards.  I cut the package into thirds, so I had 120 strips.  I used 96 of them to finish 48 cards.

BONUS: I tied my Thick Baker’s Twine around these panel before applying the strips, so the adhesive keeps the twine from falling off the card, too!

The reason I bought these Foam Adhesive Strips is because my friend, Debby, over in Scotland, uses them a lot on her cards and I just had to give them a try. Not as expensive as I thought it would be either.

  1. I love using Adhesive Strips! And not just for shaker cards! I recently used them in the Barn Door Slider Card. They give more clearance for the slider mechanism because they are a little thicker than dimensionals. Love your teaching moments?
